Humanity Worldwide Donates Boats to Flood-Affected Communities

HWW provided dugout canoes and life jackets to communities cut off by flooding in Jonglei State, restoring critical mobility and access to services.
Devastating floods in Jonglei State isolated entire communities from markets, health facilities, and humanitarian assistance. Humanity Worldwide responded by donating dugout canoes equipped with paddles and life jackets to restore essential mobility.
The boat donation ceremony, held in Akobo County, brought together community leaders, local authorities, and humanitarian staff.
'These boats are lifelines,' said one community elder. 'Without them, we cannot reach hospitals, schools, or food markets during flood season.'
HWW continues to scale emergency response interventions across Jonglei and Upper Nile states, working alongside local authorities and UN agencies to address the humanitarian impact of recurrent flooding.
