In flood- and conflict-affected areas of Jonglei, women and girls often had nowhere safe to seek help after gender-based violence or family separation.
Through HWW’s protection programming, community protection committees and women’s safe spaces were established in areas including Akobo — combining GBV awareness, referral pathways, and child protection support.
Rebecca now helps other women navigate those services. ‘Protection is not only a project,’ she says. ‘It is knowing you will be listened to and believed.’
